To support the costs associated with editorial management, peer review administration, DOI registration, copyediting, typesetting, online publication, website maintenance, indexing preparation, and long-term digital preservation, the journal applies the following publication fee policy.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

ZIJEn does not charge any fee for manuscript submission.

Authors may submit manuscripts free of charge, and all manuscripts will undergo editorial screening and peer-review evaluation without any payment requirement.

An Article Processing Charge (APC) is only payable after a manuscript has successfully completed the peer-review process and has been formally accepted for publication.

The APC covers:

• Editorial management and manuscript processing

• Double-blind peer review administration

• Similarity checking and plagiarism screening

• Copyediting and proofreading

• Layout editing and typesetting

• DOI registration and metadata management

• Online publication and website hosting

• Digital archiving and preservation services

• Indexing preparation and dissemination

Payment of the APC does not influence editorial decisions. Editorial evaluation and publication decisions are based solely on the scholarly merit, originality, methodological rigor, ethical compliance, and relevance of the manuscript to the journal's scope.

No Hidden Charges

ZIJEn is committed to transparency in publication fees.

Apart from the APC stated above, the journal does not charge:

• Submission fees

• Fast-track review fees

• Page charges

• Color figure charges

• Supplementary material charges

• Editorial processing fees

• Membership fees

• Access fees

• Publication withdrawal fees exceeding the APC amount

There are no additional mandatory costs beyond those explicitly stated in this policy.

Waiver and Discount Policy

ZIJEn recognizes that authors may experience financial constraints that limit their ability to pay publication charges.

Full or partial APC waivers may be granted in the following circumstances:

• Authors from low-income countries

• Authors from lower-middle-income countries

• Early-career researchers with limited funding

• Authors who can demonstrate financial hardship

• Invited manuscripts approved by the Editorial Board

Waiver requests must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission or before final acceptance.

The granting of waivers or discounts is determined independently from the editorial review process.

Requesting or receiving a waiver will not affect editorial decisions, peer review outcomes, or publication priority.

Payment Procedure

Payment instructions will be provided only after a manuscript has been formally accepted for publication.

Authors should not make any payment before receiving an official acceptance notification and invoice from the Editorial Office.

Publication production will commence after APC payment has been confirmed.

Refund Policy

APC payments are generally non-refundable once article production has commenced.

Refund requests may be considered only under exceptional circumstances and will be reviewed by the Editorial Office on a case-by-case basis.

Policy Updates

ZIJEn reserves the right to revise APC amounts and related policies when necessary. Any changes will be announced on the journal website and will not affect manuscripts already under review unless otherwise stated.
