Administrative Affairs https://e.journal.zabagsqupublish.com/zijen/index.php/zijen/article/view/34
Public service delivery at the sub-district level plays a pivotal role in realizing responsive, transparent, and accountable governance. However, various challenges such as limited human resources, inadequate documentation systems, and minimal utilization of information technology continue to hinder the effectiveness of administrative services. This study aims to examine the contribution of university students through Field Practice as a form of technical assistance to enhance public service quality in the Office of Pandan Jaya Village. Employing a qualitative approach with a phenomenological strategy, data were collected through participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and administrative documentation, and were analyzed thematically. The findings reveal four key themes: understanding the public service system, administrative assistance, application of modern administrative principles and service ethics, and institutional synergy between academia and local government. The results demonstrate that students actively functioned as facilitators, innovators, and collaborative partners in accelerating service processes, improving archival systems, and strengthening the institutional capacity of the village office. This study offers a conceptual contribution to the development of collaborative models between higher education and local governance, and practical implications for designing more strategic it programs oriented toward public service reform based on community needs.
Sahril, Zaenal Abidin, Kurniawan, Syahiruddin; Sudirman, M. This study aims to explore the technical assistance provided by university students to IM3 business partners in enhancing product management, digital marketing strategies, and distribution systems in the Talang Babat region. Employing a qualitative approach with a phenomenological strategy, the research draws on primary data from participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of Field Experience Practice activities. The findings reveal that collaborative engagement between academia and industry significantly improves partners’ understanding of telecommunications products, strengthens social media-based promotional strategies, and optimizes inventory tracking and product distribution. The interaction among students, business partners, and service providers fosters a productive synergy in building a local business ecosystem responsive to communication technologies. This study contributes to the development of a replicable MSE assistance model grounded in the Triple Helix framework and phenomenological inquiry, offering practical implications for educational institutions, industry stakeholders, and policymakers in designing more contextual and sustainable MSE empowerment strategies.
Santoso, Zaenal Abidin, Kurniawan; Fitri Nurdianingsih, H Ahmad Copyright (c) 2025 The Author(s). The research is motivated by challenges faced by local batik industries, limited tools, lengthy production times, and the need to maintain motif quality and consistency amid intensifying market competition. A qualitative phenomenological approach was employed to explore the lived experiences of production actors and university student mentors involved in implementing the stamping technique. Data were collected via participant observation, in-depth interviews, and process documentation, and were analyzed thematically using interpretative phenomenological analysis. Findings indicate that the iron-stamp and wax technique improved motif precision, reduced printing errors, and shortened production time per unit, while student involvement strengthened process documentation and workflow management. The study contributes theoretically to the understanding of open innovation and capability transformation within culture-based creative industries, and offers a practical collaborative model between academia and industry to support sustainable, context-appropriate production innovation in local batik SMEs.
Reni Ardwiyanti, Zaenal Abidin, Kurniawan; S Idris, Raden AH Copyright (c) 2025 The Author(s). Sound archival management of financial documents is critical for accountable public financial governance, particularly in agencies that frequently manage emergency budgets and public aid. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach, data were collected via participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and document review, and were analyzed thematically with triangulation to ensure credibility. Findings indicate that the technical assistance yielded measurable improvements in archival procedures: a structured classification system was introduced, retrieval times were reduced, and initial steps toward digital archiving were adopted. The intervention also fostered greater staff awareness of public accountability and ethical principles rooted in Islamic economic law, such as amanah (trust) and transparency. The study contributes theoretically by linking archival management and public financial governance in a disaster-response context, and practically by offering a replicable model of university-led technical assistance for strengthening local government archival capacity.
Muhammad Havis, Zaenal Abidin, Kurniawan; Mutawali, Hasnan Copyright (c) 2025 The Author(s). Rooted in the need to strengthen students’ sense of responsibility, honesty, cooperation, accountability, and health awareness within a vocational education setting, this research adopts a qualitative case study approach using observations, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that embedding sharia values into sports activities fosters positive behavioral development through hands-on experience, rotating team roles, and structured value-oriented reflection. Three major themes emerge: the internalization of honesty and amanah (trustworthiness), the enhancement of teamwork and responsibility, and the development of health awareness as an expression of viewing the body as an entrusted responsibility. This study provides a practical contribution by offering a replicable model of technical assistance for PJOK teachers and a theoretical contribution by expanding Islamic character education through the integration of sharia economic principles within vocational school contexts. The results also highlight opportunities for future research using broader samples and quantitative or mixed-method designs to further examine the model’s effectiveness.
Kresno Bayu Edi Putra, Zaenal Abidin, Kurniawan; Huong Le, Hidayat Copyright (c) 2025 The Author(s).
