Archiving Policy

Zabags International Journal of Islamic Studies (ZIJIS) is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, integrity, and continuous accessibility of all published scholarly content. To safeguard the scholarly record and support sustainable open access, ZIJIS implements a comprehensive digital archiving policy aligned with international standards and best practices in academic publishing.

The journal adopts distributed digital preservation mechanisms to guarantee content durability, redundancy, and disaster recovery. In this regard, ZIJIS participates in recognized archiving and preservation services, including:

  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)
ZIJIS utilizes the PKP Preservation Network to provide secure, automated, and long-term preservation of journal content. All published articles and associated metadata are archived to ensure continued availability in the event of technical disruption or service interruption.

  • LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)
Through the LOCKSS system, ZIJIS enables participating libraries to collect and preserve copies of published content. This distributed preservation model enhances reliability and ensures perpetual access by maintaining multiple, geographically distributed copies.

  • CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS)
ZIJIS also supports CLOCKSS as a trusted dark archive. Content preserved in CLOCKSS will be made publicly available under specific trigger events, such as catastrophic system failure or journal cessation, thereby ensuring the permanent availability of the scholarly record.

By implementing these archiving and preservation mechanisms, ZIJIS ensures that all published content remains securely preserved, discoverable, and accessible for the global research community over the long term.
