Submission Guidelines

ZIJEd: Zabags International Journal of Education accepts submissions that meet the journal’s Focus and Scope, follow the required formatting standards, and uphold high academic and ethical integrity. Authors are advised to carefully read and adhere to the following submission guidelines before uploading their manuscripts.

1. Submission Process Overview

  1. All submissions must be made online through the ZIJEd OJS system.
  2. Register – Create an author account on the journal website and complete the required profile information.
  3. Log In – Access the system using your registered username and password.
  4. New Submission – Click “New Submission” from the author dashboard.
  5. Submission Checklist – Confirm originality, ethical compliance, and agreement with journal policies.
  6. Upload Manuscript – Upload the main manuscript and any supplementary files.
  7. Enter Metadata – Provide the title, abstract, keywords, and author information.
  8. Confirm Submission – Review all information and finalize the submission.
  9. Track Progress – Monitor the submission status through the OJS dashboard.

2. Manuscript Categories Accepted

ZIJEd accepts the following types of scholarly work:

     - Original Research Articles (6,000–8,000 words)
     - Conceptual or Theoretical Papers (5,000–8,000 words)
     - Critical Literature Reviews (6,000–8,000 words)
     - Methodological or Analytical Studies (5,000–8,000 words)
Word count includes references, tables, and appendices.

3. Manuscript Submission Components

Each submission must include the following files:

3.1 Main Manuscript (Anonymous)

This file must NOT include any author-identifying information.
It should contain:

  • Title
  • Abstract and keywords
  • Main text (Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion)
  • References
  • Tables and figures (embedded in text)

3.2 Title Page

Contains:

  • Article title (concise, descriptive, maximum 15 words)
  • Full names of authors
  • Affiliations (institution, city, country)
  • Corresponding author email
  • ORCID iD (strongly recommended)

3.3 Supplementary Files (if applicable)

  • High-resolution figures
  • Original datasets
  • Research instruments
  • Ethical approval documents
  • Appendices

4. Formatting Requirements

Manuscripts must follow these formatting standards:

  • File type: Microsoft Word (.docx)
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • Spacing: 1.5
  • Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides (A4)
  • Citation style: APA 7th Edition
  • Tables and Figures:
    • Number sequentially
    • Provide descriptive titles and sources
    • Insert in relevant sections, not at the end

Manuscripts that deviate from these standards will require revision prior to review.

5. Abstract and Keywords

  • The abstract must be 150–200 words.
  • Must summarize: background, purpose, methods, key findings, and contributions.
  • Include 3–5 keywords that reflect the major themes of the manuscript.

6. Ethical Requirements

6.1 Research Ethics

If the study involves human subjects, authors must state:

  • Ethical approval from a recognized ethics committee
  • Informed consent procedures
  • Confidentiality protocols

6.2 Publication Ethics

ZIJEd adheres to COPE standards. Authors must ensure:

  • Originality of the content
  • Accuracy of data and citations
  • No fabrication or falsification
  • No plagiarism (similarity index < 20%)
  • No duplicate publication or salami slicing

6.3 Authorship Integrity

  • All authors must have contributed significantly
  • No ghost authorship or honorary authorship
  • All authors must approve the final manuscript

7. Peer Review Process

  • ZIJEd employs a double-blind peer review system.
  • Each manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers.
  • Review outcomes include:
    Accept | Minor Revision | Major Revision | Reject
  • Authors must address all reviewer comments in a Response to Reviewer document when submitting revisions.

Estimated review timeline: 4–8 weeks.

8. Post-Acceptance Process

Once accepted:

  1. The manuscript undergoes copy-editing, layout, and proofreading.
  2. Authors may be asked to verify page proofs.
  3. Final publication is subject to Editor-in-Chief approval.

  • ZIJEd does not charge submission fees.
  • ZIJEd only charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) for publication, unless otherwise stated in a future policy update.
